The British Photography Awards (UPDATE: Voting now closed)
This year has been very good so far, with some of my work being awarded and shortlisted in different international competitions. The latest piece of good news came yesterday via email, when I was informed that I had been shortlisted for the Documentary category at the British Photography Awards. It is an honour to have my work selected, but the most important thing is that the project from which the image originated, which I feel very strongly about, is getting more and more exposure!
The image in question is the same one that was highly commended at the GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018, just a couple of weeks ago (blog entry here).
This competition varies from many others in which, in this stage, the jury has selected the finalist images, but it does not select the winning images - they are selected by the public.
I encourage as many people as possible to vote for whichever project they feel connected with. You can find the other finalists in the Documentary category here:
UPDATE: public voting has now closed. Unfortunately I didn't make it this time, but I was happy to see many other great projects getting some exposure!
